"Dr. Chanda Corbett is a excellent mental health leader who integrates wonderfully the relational and professional components of life and ministry."

Dr. David Anderson, Bridgeway Founder/Sr. Pastor, GracismGlobal.com President/CEO, WAVA Radio Talk Show Host, Omega Graduate School Chancellor, Author of Gracism - The Art of Inclusion

"Her presentation skill set has contributed to the education of VHA providers both within and outside of mental health, within and external to VA, and within VA, at the local, regional and national level. Indeed, Dr. Corbett’s contributions have made a significant positive impact on the mental health care of Veterans served in VA, and on supporting early career psychologists, including those from minoritized backgrounds. She has contributed in almost every way imaginable—serving on committees and developing innovative projects and resources, via presentations and publications, and via mentoring.

One final note, Dr. Corbett is interpersonally delightful. I recently attended the OMHSP Geriatric Mental Health Summit, which included all VISN Geriatric Mental Health Champions (she serves as VISN 5’s Champion) and the Geriatric Mental Health Field Advisory Committee. Throughout the entire meeting she was so positive and provided numerous resources to the group. In fact, when I was chatting 2 with several other participants, I learned her positivity was clearly appreciated by many of her colleagues working in the geriatric mental health space. In general, Dr. Corbett is an incredibly giving, thoughtful and warm person and just delightful to be around. She is the kind of role model psychologist that we hope all AVAPL [Association Veterans Affairs Psychology Leaders] members should be."

"Your dedication and hard work in providing individualized care to each and every veteran and their families has been instrumental in building resiliency and wellness in them during the Pandemic. I also appreciate the support you provide to our staff and IDT. I wanted to take the opportunity to award you a certificate of appreciation."

Dr. Nickie Lepcha, Physician & Director Community Living Center (CLC) at Washington, DC VA Medical Center 2022

“Your presentations were very thoughtful, engaging, and right on point. Our staff has been struggling with disruptive behavior related to our Veterans with cognitive impairment. You reframed the issue in such a way that we all understood that it was possible to support both our residents and our staff. What was remarkable about your presentation was that it was equally engaging and applicable to the doctors in our group, as it was to the nursing staff and the unlicensed care providers who bear the brunt of these unwelcome interactions. That required a remarkable awareness of the target audience.”

Dr. Anteneh Habte, Physician at Martinsburg VA Medical Center 2022

“Excellent presentation which addressed all the concerns/questions raised by the target audience. Knowledgeable and empathic speaker with obvious experience in team building. I was very pleased with the training because it facilitated an honest discussion with staff about the realities of racist comments from our patients.  Staff felt validated, and we gained new resources for dealing with these challenges.”

Dr. Paul Anders, Psychologist at Martinsburg VA Medical Center 2022

"Chanda Corbett is a highly motivated professional whose passion for her work energizes others. She is directly responsible for many, many outreach efforts and programs designed to retain staff and faculty of color and to recruit and retain undergraduate students. Her efforts have produced results in increased enrollment and retention of students, and in retention of faculty and staff. Her colleagues and students as well look to her for leadership in advocating for changes in policy and practice that have improved the climate for people of color at UNH."

Leila Moore, Ed.D, Vice President of Student Affairs, University of New Hampshire 1999-2001
